What is your venue name, industry rating and where is your venue located?
We are Greenwoods Hotel & Spa in Stock, Essex. We are a grade 2 listed building with a four star rating.
What facilities does your venue boast?
We boast a stunning 17th Century Grade 2 listed building with 39 beautifully decorated bedrooms, a newly renovated spa and juice bar with a luxurious swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, relax room and treatment rooms. We also have a brand new gym for guests and members to use featuring the latest equipment. We have recently renovated our restaurant as well as our Manor Lounge where we host our delicious traditional afternoon tea. As well as all of this, we have our beautifully decorated and recently refurbished Library & Boardroom suites for smaller functions, events, conferences and weddings. We also have our Royal Garden Marquee which is perfect for larger functions, weddings, conferences, Christmas party nights and New Years Eve! As well as all of this, we have stunning landscaped grounds surrounding the hotel and we are also licensed to hold wedding ceremonies outside at our Garden Gazebo – perfect for a summer wedding!
Does your hotel cater for weddings? If so, what numbers can you accommodate and what packages do you offer?
We do indeed cater for weddings, we can accommodate up to 46 guests seated in our Library Suite, up to 34 seated in our Boardroom Suite. As the Library & Boardroom are adjoining rooms, we can also accommodate a maximum of 130 guests for a standing buffet party. We also have our Royal Garden Marquee which can accommodate a maximum of 160 seated or 200 for a standing buffet party. Not forgetting our Garden Gazebo which can seat up to 120 guests for an outside ceremony.
What about events, both large and small, what numbers can you accommodate?
Yes we do host events here at Greenwoods, again we can accommodate up to 46 guests seated in our Library Suite, up to 34 seated in our Boardroom Suite. As the Library & Boardroom are adjoining rooms, we can also accommodate a maximum of 130 guests for a standing buffet party. We also have our Royal Garden Marquee which can accommodate a maximum of 160 seated or 200 for a standing buffet party.
Can guests stay over at your venue? What accommodation is on offer?
We have 39 beautifully decorated bedrooms here at Greenwoods, which consist of 33 standard bedrooms and 6 premier bedrooms. Our standard bedrooms have a comfortable homely feel to them and our premier rooms are decorated to more of an antique style and have Jacuzzi baths in the bathrooms.
Tell us about your food/ menus/ wines...
With the introduction of our new Head Chef Mike, he has brought in fresh ideas for our restaurant; we now have a new a la carte menu for guests who wish to dine with us, as well as daily specials. We have also introduced a new wine list, providing a wider variety to our customers.
Do you have any sporting/ spa/ golf facilities on site?
We boast stunningly refurbished spa facilities here at Greenwoods, which includes a luxurious swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, relax room and treatment rooms. We have also recently renovated our gym facilities, offering a far better choice of equipment to our guests and members.
What sets your venue apart from others?
As you can tell by now, we offer so much here at Greenwoods. We’re not just a hotel and spa; we are a venue for conferencing, events, functions & weddings. We host a delicious afternoon tea in our Manor Lounge daily and we also have our beautiful restaurant for anyone who wants to pop in for lunch or an evening meal!
Anything special that we should know about the venue?
As mentioned above, we have recently undergone extensive refurbishment throughout. We have also introduced new spa packages and treatments, new restaurant menus and we have improved our afternoon tea menu. We have also created new wedding packages to feature wedding suppliers – including the fabulous Simply Bows & Chair Covers, Neil Fortescue Photography, Stock Florist, Essence Music Agency, Mike Johnson Wedding Pianist and Primrose Cottage Cakes. We hope that the introduction of these packages will help take the pressure off for brides and grooms planning their special day.
Any big plans for the coming months or 2015?
We are currently organising our 2015 calendar. We will be hosting all special occasions such as Valentines Day, Mother’s Day, Easter & Father’s Day. We also have plans to host our famous Ladies Ascot Event, Jazz Afternoon Tea Events, BBQ Events, Wedding Fairs, Open Days, Halloween Murder Mystery, Christmas Party Nights & New Year’s Eve but we are getting our creative thinking caps on and playing around with some new ideas – so watch this space!

Why do you like to work with Simply Bows and Chair Covers?
We love the variety of design and ideas! A lot of people think that ‘chair covers’ are just a cover and a bow but Simply Bows and Chair Covers have definitely proven this is not the case. We really like the matching table cloths, napkins, napkin ties, table runners…the list is endless!...and the colours and different fabrics…we could go on forever! We also love working with Kimberley, she is really reliable and so helpful when it comes to any requirements we have.
